Actor-comedian Sammy Lagmay dies at 55 due to diabetis

Actor-Comedian Sammy Lagmay died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, after a three-year battle with complications from diabetes at the age of 55.

Since 2010, Lagmay had been suffering complications from diabetes, which were initially left untreated due to financial difficulties.

His sister Mylene Lagmay-Mariano said in a text message to a radio report, Sammy passed away at his home in San Jose, Bulacan, at around 3 p.m.

Sammy was popular for roles in the sitcoms  “Chika Chika Chicks” and “Abangan Ang Susunod Na Kabanata” including Pilya En Da Pilot,” “Oki Doki Doc,” “Pwedeng-Pwede,” and “Aalog-Alog”.

The wake for the actor-comedian will be held at St. Peter Memorial Chapel in Tandang Sora, Quezon City.
