Anne Curtis - Smith

Anne Curtis-Smith is proving that aside from being a versatile actress and TV show host, she is also a fitness enthusiast as she revealed being selected to run the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon

The actress-host shared she was encouraged by her “It’s Showtime” co-host Kim Atienza to try her luck in the prestigious marathon. Kuya Kim was also selected to participate in the event, his second after competing last year. Anne and Kuya Kim made it to the marathon through “the lottery,” where organizers draw entrants from thousands of hopefuls worldwide. They will join more than 19,000 runners in the annual 42.195 km or 26.2 mile run, which courses through the five boroughs of New York City from Staten Island to Manhattan.

Anne has been aiming to run a full marathon after finishing the 21K race during the Heroes for Children Run event she organized as the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Celebrity Advocate for Children in October last year. The run event dubbed Heroes for Children, aims to raise funds and awareness for her ‘1,000 Days’ campaign.

The TCS NYC Marathon is the largest marathon in the world, and is among the pre-eminent long-distance annual running events in the United States. The 2016 TCS NYC Marathon is slated for November 6, 2016.
