April Boy to hold thanksgiving concert

Thankful for a new lease on his life, singer April Boy Regino will have a thanksgiving concert titled “Ang Pasasalamat!” on November 26 at the Marikina Sports Center.

The singer, who turned 50 in April, was the leader of the April Boys trio, which was very popular in the 1990s. As the singer-songwriter of the group, he composed and sang numerous hits until he and his family migrated to the USA in 2004.

In 2009 he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. In 2010 the Reginos returned to the Philippines to help son John Christopher (JC) fulfill his dream of becoming a singer.

Madel’s brother Joel introduced April Boy to a brand of health capsules made of pure barley. She recounted that three days after he started taking the capsules, the constant pain in his stomach was gone. Three months later, his sugar level and blood pressure had normalized. Doctors say his condition is now normal and he has even regained his weight.

Aside for the April Boy himself, the concert will also feature son JC and guests Lito Camo, Ciara Sotto, Jan Marini, Justin Pinon, JZE Band, Basagan na Band, Instinct Band and Manny Pacquiao.
