Billy Crawford to record an album in France

Singer-TV host Billy Crawford will be away for two months as he will record and promote an album in France.

The Fil-Am singer and song writer who recently inked a two-year contract with ABS-CBN Billy will remain as a host of “It’s Showtime!” and “Pilipinas Got Talent,” and a regular performer on the variety show “ASAP ’12.”

Billy’s trip to the French Republic was supported by his bosses at the Kapamilya network whom he said didn’t stop him from pursuing his dream.

He said he will miss work and his daily routine in the Philippines and of course his girlfriend Nikki Gil. The two met and fell in love in 2008 while working as co-hosts on season 2 of the talent search program “Pinoy Dream Academy.”

France is no stranger to Billy as he lived there for almost six years.   He was a successful singer there with the first single from his album Ride called “Trackin’”. In 2001, the song put Billy at the top of the French charts selling 750,000 copies and was certified platinum. It also topped the sales charts and the club charts. The song was also a big hit in the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany.

Hoping to re-conquer France, Billy is expected to do concerts in Paris and on the island of La Réunion, off the coast of southeast Africa.
