Celebrities take Holy Week break

A number of celebrities took the time off to break away from work, seek spiritual retreat, and enjoy rest-and-recreation and quality time with friends and family during the Holy Week.

In Pampanga, actor Jon Avila and some members of the hip hop dance group Philippine All Stars joined thousands of devotees and tourists alike to witness the annual reenactment of the crucifixion.

Among them were Vina Morales and daughter Ceana, couple Bong Revilla and Lani Mercado, news anchors Karen Davila and Gretchen Fullido, TV personality and weatherman Kim Atienza, and the Gutierrez brothers, Richard and Raymond.

Seemingly oblivious of the spiritual message of Holy Week, a spectacle of showbiz sexy stars namely Jackie Rice, Lovi Poe, Michelle Madrigal, Bianca King and Solenn Heussaff were also seen in the island resort donning the skimpiest of swimsuits.

In Cebu, Matteo Guidicelli attended the family in the Queen City of the South. In Samar, surfing buddies Jericho Rosales and Gab Valenciano enjoyed the majestic waves off the island.

Comedian Vice Ganda, as with fellow comedian K Brosas were seen in Bohol.

Actress Ruffa Gutierrez spent most of Holy Week in a ranch in Bukidnon upon the invitation of a friend.

Other celebrities took the time to travel abroad. Jodi Sta. Maria went to Singapore with her mother and baby. Kapamilya stars Kim Chiu, Maja Salvador and Angelica Panganiban were in New York. TV host Bianca Gonzales was also in New York to visit relatives based in the city.
