Charice to pay special tribute to Whitney Houston

International singer Charice wants to do a special tribute to the late music diva Whitney Houston around the same time as her concert tour starts on March 2.

Charice acknowledges that she somewhat owes her fame to the late music icon because it was through her songs that she was discovered.

The young singer recalled that she first met the legendary singer about year and a half ago at the backstage of the latter’s Beverly Hilton Hotel show. She said Whitney was so kind to her and even praised her for her powerful rendition of her songs, particularly the all-time hit “I Will Always Love You.”

The concert tour for Charice’s second album “Infinity” kicks off on March 2 in Dubai.

After Dubai, there will be stops in Singapore, March 5; Jakarta, March 7; Philippines, March 9; Hong Kong, March 19; and Korea, March 21.

The “by invitation” funeral service for the late singer will be held on Saturday [US time] at the Newark, New Jersey New Hope Baptist Church where she grew up.

Her death certificate filed Wednesday [US time] in Los Angeles supposedly listed the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey as Whitney’s burial place.
