ER Ejercito considers 2011 a great year

ER Ejercito regarded 2011 as a great year for him and his family as well as for the province of Laguna due to the numerous citations and awards that they received.

The actor-turned politician specifically mentioned the “Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award,” the highest award for a public servant leader which he received from Pres. Noynoy Aquino.

The Laguna Governor also reaped 11 major awards for his movie “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story,” which was an entry to the 37th Metro Manila Film Festival.

The movie tells the story of Tondo’s Nicasio Salonga, dubbed the “Robinhood of Philippine Underworld” in the ’50s. It won the coveted Best Picture and Gatpuno Antonio J. Villegas Cultural Awards, Best Festival Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Theme Song, Best Musical Score, Best Sound Recording, and Best Editing.

At the recent thanksgiving party that he tendered for the entertainment press for the success of the movie, Ejercito congratulated and thanked all those involved in the production.
