Filipina caregiver makes it to ‘X-Factor Israel’

A 46-year-old Filipina caregiver working in Israel got four votes of “yes” to qualify for “X Factor Israel.”

Rose “Osang” Fostanes a native of Taguig City who doubles as a metapelet (caregiver) and lead vocalist for a band that performs in a small bar in Tel Aviv, performed “This Is My Life,” that highly impressed judges Ivri Lider, Shiri Maimon, Rami Fortis and Moshe Peretz.

Judge Ivri Lider said Rose’s choice of song is right for her vocal range. Judge Rami Fortis added that Rosse possesses the X factor to qualify for the contest. Judge Shiri Maimon for her part said her performance was so perfect that it sounded like she was listening to a song recorded in CD.

“This Is My Life” was popularized by singer Shirley Bassey in the late 60s and became one of her signature songs. In the US, she is best known for recording the theme songs to the James Bond films Goldfinger, Diamonds are Forever, and Mookraker.
