Jaejoong returns to Manila after 11 years

Korean star Kim Jaejoong expressed nostalgia being back in the Philippines after an 11-year absence.

The Korean singer-actor, best known as a member of the Korean pop group JYJ, was in the country for his first-ever “Asia Tour Fanmeeting in Manila” last Nov. 30 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum. His first Manila visit was in 2006 when he was still a member of TVXQ. He and the other members of the band shoot an ad.

Jaejoong was visibly pleased to see his fans and long-time supporters as he gamely answered questions from them. In another portion of the event, Jaejoong asked fans to answer questions including why Filipinos are good singers. He said the Philippines is a nation full of singers.

Jaejoong also tasted Filipino food papaitan, kilawin, sisig and chicharong bulaklak along with local beer. He was also asked by the fans to dance to Bruno Mars’ “Versace On The Floor” and do “aegyo” or demonstration of cute affection. He also sang Filipino songs and the fans had to guess the titles, and danced to “Otso Otso,” “Whoops Kirri,” “Spaghetti Song” and “Pamela One.”

He promised to come back to the country as soon as possible. His last song was “Now Is Good,” which was responded by the fans raising banners that read “Today is an unforgettable miracle” to express their appreciation to him for coming to the Philippines.

The “2017 Kim Jae Joong Asia Tour Fanmeeting in Manila” was presented by Unusual Entertainment with the support of Fangirlasia and Showtime Thailand.
