Jessica Sanchez considers Manila visit as highlight of her AI experience

Fil-Mexican-American singer Jessica Sanchez and the other finalists that comprise the Top 10 of American Idol (AI) Season 11 arrived in Manila early morning Tuesday for their concert at the Araneta Coliseum on Friday, September 21.

The other Top Ten AI Season 11 finalists who arrived from Los Angeles, California, aboard Philippine Airlines flight PR103 were Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips, Joshua Ledet, Colton Dixon, Skylar Lane, Hollie Cavanagh, Heejun Han, Deandre Brackensick, Erika Van Pelt, and Elise Testone.

In a brief media interview at the airport, Jessica said she was very excited to be in the Philippines where her mom was born and raised. She also thanked her Filipino fans who supported her right from the beginning of her quest for the AI crown. According to Jessica, AI got its largest support from the Philippines outside the US.

The Idol finalists are expected to stay in the country for a week, while Jessica is looking to stay longer for other commitments such as shooting for a series of commercial endorsements.

Although her schedule is quite tight, Jessica said she wants to meet her Filipino fans and try other Filipino dishes while here in Manila. Jessica also proudly reasserted her roots by saying that she is a Filipino and she learned a lot of Filipino culture from her Filipino family that was born and raised in the Philippines.

Jessica sees her visit as a highlight of her AI experience especially since Manila is the only Asian stop of the tour
