John Lloyd-Sarah movie opens with a bang

The final installment in the series of films starring John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo opened with a bang last Black Saturday with multitude of fans forming long lines to watch the movie.

The Star Cinema and Viva Films co-production of the romantic-comedy film “It Takes a Man and a Woman,” is expected to repeat the success of its precursors “A Very Special Love” and “You Changed My Life.” The latter are included among the top 10 highest grossing local films of all time.

Director Cathy Garcia-Molina earlier stated that the love story is a notch higher than the first two films. She said the two characters, Miggy Montenegro (Cruz) and Laida Magtalas (Geronimo) have already learned the true meaning of love and have transformed into a man and a woman.

Actress Isabelle Daza plays Isabelle Laurel, the socialite girlfriend of Miggy. She perfectly fit in the film adding more tension to the conflict between ex-lovers.

Given an “A” rating by the Cinema Evaluation Board, the movie registered about P33 Million for its opening day, breaking box-office records being the highest opening-day gross for a movie shown on a Black Saturday. If the success continues, it might be the highest-grossing film of all time.

Currently “It Takes a Man and a Woman” is being screened in 230 theatres nationwide, up from 185 cinemas during its opening last March 30
