‘Juan dela Cruz’ is most watch among TV shows

The latest TV ratings data from multinational Kantar Media shows ABS-CBN’s “Juan dela Cruz” lording it over programs aired on other Philippine TV stations.

The Kapamilya series registered 42.6% in its February 21 episode which is considered an all-time highest nationwide rating. In comparison, rival network GMA-7’s “24 Oras” and “Indio” gained nationwide ratings of 16.9% and 18.8%, respectively.

“Juan dela Cruz” stars Coco Martin as Juan dela Cruz, a half “tagapagbantay” and half “aswang” who falls in love with Rosario (Erich Gonzales) an aswang-hunter. Directed by Malu Sevilla, the series premiered on ABS-CBN and worldwide on TFC on February 4, 2013.

Completing the list of Top 5 most watched programs on the same day are four other ABS-CBN primetime series, namely “Ina, Kapatid, Anak” starring Maja Salvador and Kim Chiu with 40.4% nationwide ratings, newscast “TV Patrol” with 30.9%, “Be Careful With My Heart” starring Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap with 28.7%, and Angelica Panganiban’s drama series “Apoy sa Dagat” with 26.7%.

The UK-based Kantar Media, a market research and consultancy network of 13 specialist companies, uses a nationwide panel which represents 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population.
