Lea Salonga hits New York music scene anew


International singer and actress Lea Salonga will take her audience on a musical tour of her illustrious singing career as she performs anew at the famed Carlyle Hotel’s nightclub, Café Carlyle in New York.

Salonga, a Best Actress grand slam winner (Tony, Oliver, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theater World Awards) will have her second cabaret-style return engagement starting on June 7 to 25 in a show directed by Daniel Kutner titled “An Evening with Lea Salonga”.

She first performed at the same venue in March 2010.

The Philippine pride will be singing Filipino songs and American standards that will showcase her beginnings as a pop star in the Philippines to her development as a Broadway and West End star.

The Café Carlyle is considered as New York City’s bastion of classic cabaret entertainment. It continues to draw socialites, politicians and magnates into its distinguished and glamorous classic cabaret setting where incredible talent and music are paired with New York elegance and style. .

An array of well-known jazz performers and artists have graced the Café Carlyle stage including George Feyer, Woody Allen, Judy Collins, Eartha Kitt, Debbie Reynolds, Barbara Cook, John Pizzarelli, Rita Moreno, Ute Lemper and Steve Tyrell.
