Mario Maurer describes shooting his first Pinoy film a magical experience

Thai actor Mario Maurer is immensely enjoying his stay in the Philippines while shooting his first film project here, “Suddenly It’s Magic.”

The 23-year-old heartthrob said he found the Filipinos very nice and working with his co-actors and crew is like having a big family.

The Star Cinema-produced movie tells the story of a Thai superstar Marco Hanson (Mario Maurer) and a simple a Filipina baker named Joey Hermosa (Erich Gonzales). When Marco decided to fly to Philippines to escape from his career, he meets Joey. The two later fell in love but their relationship is tested by conflicts because of their different worlds.

The production shot the film in Paoay, Ilocos Norte and Bangkok, Thailand. Mario found Ilocos a beautiful place and now plans to see Palawan and other tourist spots in the country.

Mario started off a career as a model at a young age of 16. He later became best known for his lead roles in the 2007 film, “The Love of Siam” and the 2010 hit, “First Love (A Little Thing Called Love). The Chinese-Thai model and actor is also among the international celebrity endorsers of local clothing brand Penshoppe.

“Suddenly It’s Magic” opens this coming October 31 Apart from its local run, it will also hold screenings in countries like Singapore and the United States as part of Star Cinema’s growing audience. The movie is directed by Rory Quintos.
