‘Praybeyt Benjamin’ is highest-grossing Filipino movie of all time

The film “Praybeyt Benjamin” is now the highest-grossing local movie of all time in the Philippines

The action comedy film jointly produced by Star Cinema and VIVA Films earned P327 million in ticket sales that a sequel is already in the planning stage.

Popular gay comedian Vice Ganda, the film’s lead star, said he was overwhelmed and was at a loss for words when he learned of the movie’s success. He also expressed his gratitude to both companies for believing in him.

Director Wenn Deramas said Part II of the movie will be made in 2013. He added that it may take a long time to finish as they have to shoot some scenes abroad.

Prior to “Praybeyt Benjamin,” “No Other Woman,” starring Cristine Reyes, Anne Curtis and Derek Ramsay, held the box-office record with  almost P276 million in earnings.
