Veteran actor Renato del Prado dies at 73 on Nov 1

Veteran actor Renato Del Prado was best known in television drama portraying the role of “Guido” in the GMA 7 original and long-running version of the soap opera titled “Anna Liza”, passed away at the age of 73 on Saturday, November 1 due to colon cancer, according to his daughter, Pilar Mateo.

Mateo said in a post on her personal Facebook page that her father died in his home in San Diego, California and will be buried at Glen Abbey Memorial Park this week.

Del Prado started his career as a writer for the company owned by the late komiks stalwart Pablo Gomez and will remembered as one of the resident kontrabida actors of Sampaguita Pictures during the 1960s.

Actor Janus del Prado is the son of the late Renato.

Among his films were “Tansan vs Tarsan” with Dolphy, “Ang Mahiwagang Mundo ni Lola Sinderella” with Amalia Fuentes and “My Beloved” with Nora Aunor.
