Zac Efron describes PH experience as amazing

Hollywood movie star Zac Efron shows sincere excitement as he visits the country for the first time.

The star of “The Lucky One, “17 Again,” and “High School Musical,” reportedly flew in from Los Angeles , CA with his father David Efron, manager Jason Barrett, and Hollywood photographer Darren Tieste for a brief holiday at Misibis Bay Resorts as personal guests of Bicolano businessman Zaldy Co.

The 24-year-old Hollywood actor revealed in his past interviews that he has always wanted to visit the Philippines and to be exposed to the Filipino culture, saying he has heard a lot of things about the country. He shared that his father, a frequent Philippine visitor, also told him great stories about the country.

On Saturday night, he appeared before an estimated 8,000 fans that filled the SM Mall of Asia Arena to take part in the Penshoppe Fan Conference 2012. Prior to Efron’s appearance, eight-time UAAP cheerdance champions University of the Philippines Pep Squad performed the final production dance number to the songs from the Disney series “High School Musical” that paved the way for Efron to stardom.

Efron also did a one-on-one live interview on stage with ABS-CBN’s Boy Abunda. He recounted how he got cast in “High School Musical,” where he met Vanessa Hudgens.  Hudgens, who has Filipino blood, was Efron’s former girlfriend and his leading lady in “High School Musical.”

Since his early days doing musicals Efron continues to do more impressive movie roles with each project getting more challenging each time. He has done light romantic comedies   to more dramatic and mature roles. More recently, he starred in the period drama “The Paperboy.”

The Filipino brand Penshoppe is Efron’s first clothing endorsement. Aside from him, other big names who are also part of the Penshoppe All Stars campaign are Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester of “Gossip Girl,” Ian Somerhalder of “The Vampire Diaries” and Thai superstar Mario Maurer.
