Zsa Zsa Padilla’s surgical operation a success

The Aug. 28 (local time) US surgery of TV host-singer and actress Zsa Zsa Padilla that removed her kidney cyst has been a success.

This was announced by daughter Zia Quizon who also revealed the good news from the doctors that the cancer has not spread anywhere else.

A few weeks after the death of her long-time partner, Comedy King Dolphy, Zsa Zsa was diagnosed with Stage 1 kidney cancer. She then proceeded to the US accompanied by Zia, along with her half-sister Karylle.

Zsa Zsa underwent laparoscopic surgery at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California to remove a golf-ball sized tumor in her kidney. The procedure allows surgery to be performed without the long traditional incision by using multiple small incisions where the surgeon inserts instruments and a tiny camera.

A healing mass offered for the 48-year-old veteran singer-actress was held on Tuesday afternoon at the Dolphy Theater of ABS-CBN in Quezon City, where Nicole Quizon, Zsa Zsa’s other daughter related the success of the surgery. The mass was also attended by Dolphy’s children that include Eric Quizon, Epi Quizon, and Vandolph.

It was reported that Zsa Zsa hopes to flay back to the Philippines in a week or two after the surgery.
